Enabling New Zealand's low carbon future

Christchurch Airport’s Kōwhai Park is a platform for creating a range of green energies. Phase One will see Contact Energy and Lightsource bp deliver a 150 megawatt (or 170MWp) solar array – larger than any other currently in New Zealand.

Pound Road Traffic Lights

From Monday 13 October, temporary traffic lights will be installed on Pound Road. To avoid delays, we recommend using an alternative route. These changes are part of safely progressing work on our renewable energy precinct, Kōwhai Park.

Grays Road and Ryans Road – Road works

Grays Road will be closed from 11 August for approximately six months due to essential cabling works.

Ryans Road will also operate one-way (eastbound only) from 7 am to 7 pm, and be closed at all other times.

If you have any questions about the closure, please call the Kowhai Park team on 0800 225 513 or email kowhaiparkproject@lightsourcebp.com
